Hip-hop icon Sean “Diddy” Combs has been sentenced to 50 months in federal prison after being convicted in July 2025 on charges related to transporting individuals for prostitution. The sentencing was handed down in New York on October 3, 2025.
According to court documents, Combs arranged for women to travel across state lines for what prosecutors described as “drug-fueled sexual performances,” often referred to as his infamous “freak offs.” While prosecutors sought more than 11 years behind bars, the judge imposed just over four years, along with a $500,000 fine and five years of supervised release.
The 55-year-old music mogul was acquitted on more serious counts of sex trafficking and racketeering, but prosecutors argued that his actions showed a “pattern of exploitation.” Combs, who has been in custody since September 2024, will receive credit for time served.
During the sentencing hearing, Combs apologized, calling his actions “shameful” and “sick,” while his children pleaded for leniency, describing his potential for rehabilitation.
The ruling marks a dramatic fall for one of hip-hop’s most influential figures, whose career spanned decades of chart-topping hits, business ventures, and cultural influence.
